Making a Freedom of Information Request
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 gives individuals or organisations the right to request information held by a public authority.
As a public body, NHS Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has a duty to comply with all aspects of the FOI Act 2000. Our Freedom of Information Policy outlines our process for responding to Freedom of Information requests.

Guidelines for making a request
If the information you need is not available on our website, you may contact us to make a FOI request. FOI requests must:
- Be made in writing, for example in a letter or an email. We cannot accept verbal requests
- Include a contact name and a return address. This can be an email or postal address
- Be as specific as possible. The clearer your request is, the easier it will be for us to provide the information you require
- Be marked ‘Freedom of Information’. Although you do not have to specify that you are making an FOI request, doing so will help us identify it more quickly
We do not generally hold medical information or patient records. For treatment that has taken place under your GP you should contact your GP surgery directly. For access to other records you should contact the provider responsible for providing the treatment. More information on Subject Access Requests can be found on the Your Information page
